Josh Yim
As a youth, I had a great experience at church. It was a ton of fun as my friends and I played basketball, help out with the praise band, and stay up late nights during retreats. But despite all that I received, it never really sank in, so I lived a double life chasing my selfish pursuits during the week days and trying to pretend it never happened during the weekends.
But in college, I committed my life to Jesus after experiencing his grace and love for me both through the cross and through the people He placed in my life. Since graduation, I’ve lived a new kind of double life, working in the tech industry by day and running around with college students by night, sharing the gospel that transformed my life.
Deb and I have had the privilege of building up our church at our alma mater in Berkeley before moving down to beautiful Santa Barbara, where we’ve reached out to the Gauchos. We’re excited to now pack up and move with our daughter, Zoe, to build up the church in the Midwest!

Similar to Josh I also grew up going to a Korean church and I also had an amazing experience in youth group - lots of late nights at Dennys, memorable retreats with super sus games and life changing mission trips. However it wasn't until college when the gospel became a lot more personal and the holy spirit broke past my shallow, simple understanding of the gospel. The cross was no longer just a "nice to have" in life, but I was convicted that the cross and Jesus' forgivness really was my greatest need and that I wasn't saved to live my own life but God has a vision for my life that is modeled after his son Jesus to seek and save the lost along with others in the body of Christ!
